On the road for our Community Tour
At All Set West, we’re continually inspired by the West of England’s spirit to make change happen. We’re here to connect the growing film and TV industry in the region with the brilliant and diverse communities based here.
Which is why we commissioned five local networks from across the region to be part of our week-long Community Tour in March 2025, to preview our skills package and spread the word as wide as possible.
We kicked off the week with a networking event and workshops hosted by Normal Girl Productions, a company that champions female-led stories with diverse teams and supports Bristol’s vibrant creative scene by hosting regular meet ups for women to connect, collaborate and inspire. As well as sharing what we had in store with All Set West, there were workshops on storytelling with Debs Torr and Documentary Storytelling with Maddy Dodd throughout the evening.

Cables & Cameras were our mid-week hosts. We were proud to preview All Set West as part of HETV 4 POC, their free film screening and panel discussion at Easton Community Centre in Bristol. Hosted by Rising Arts Co-Director Euella Jackson, this event was designed to champion diverse voices, focusing on women and filmmakers from the Global Majority across various genres of short films. On the panel were local filmmakers Sheherazade Bodin and Monsurah Alli Oluwafuyi.

Next, we attended a film screening and discussion at Sparks in Bristol courtesy of Made on the Moon, an arts organisation connecting East and South-East Asian creatives across our region. The panel featured local creatives Emma Kyung Mi Sheldrick, Em Li and Natalie Chan, who led a brilliant discussion around representation and inclusion within the industry and were on hand with plenty of career tips.
The penultimate event on our community tour was delivered by the Forge Women’s Support Group, a network of female and non-binary filmmakers from across the region. Our All Set West preview was part of a full day which featured workshops around Playfulness with Holly Meechan, Protecting your Passion with Alison Powell, From F*ck It to Flourishing with Jessica Adams and a Q&A with Writer, Director, Actor & Access Coordinator, Ella Glendining.
We saw out the week showcasing All Set West at a film screening and discussion event hosted by Rising Arts Agency and presented by Nathan Hardie. The screenings featured thought-provoking films by local filmmakers Euella, Quezz, Inaz and A1.
